Dear GM and Chrysler Dealers who have been "pink slipped"

I understand your pain...

While you are curling up in a ball to die in your corner, please remember all those customers, who have been screwed by your unchecked knowledge of human traits, credit business, and sheer greed. May your lots be turned into parking for Seven Elevens.

For the fourth time in a row. A-mazing! Somebody should get fired like now.

We are cheated by carriers

...among Japanese consumers, 91% didn't want to buy an iPhone. The cellular weapon of choice in Japan would be the Panasonic P905i, a fancy cellphone that doubles as a 3-inch TV and features 3-G, GPS, a 5.1-megapixel camera, and motion sensors for Wii-style games...

I lost my grade record book from KTU. Fuck. I turned my house upside down already.

Apple's Not so Worldly Travel Kit

Power adapter issues track continues.

I didn't read the specifics, of which countries are included into Apple's collection of power adapters. Now my 1st gen MacBook Pro that I sent home with om is a useless brick until somebody will get my mom an adapter. She said that she invited a repairman.

This reminds me of a case, where an american came to Bishkek with no adapters for 220V from US 115V.

It also reminds me of a case where I screwed myself out of internets by plugging my brand new 56K US Robotics modem brought from US into 220V. I did smell that magic blue smoke. It was quite bad, and cost me an impressive amount of time to scour the city and find nothing in terms of 220V to 9V DC adapters.

I was unaware that Sun had a VM solution for Mac OS X. Playing with it now.

+Going to see the Spirit.
+Sound of tearing paper is music to my ear.
+Got Garmin GPS unit. Serial interface shenanigans are next. I can finally automate plotting wp on a map.
+Red Alert 3 - excellent time waster.
+Read on cat behavior. Everything I was doing to help may not have been all that helpful to deal with the "angry" cat.
+Korean food
+/- Only 4 more hours of 24 hours of "Christmas Story"
-I just about had it with select(). i am motivated enough to learn pthreads because i am tired of managing my objects separately. somehow i am thinking that i am giving up on complexity and running from the real issue of needing to put some effort into it.

Abit is going out of business :(

I guess it is a natural progression of things. When I used to care about the hardware I am running on I had one of their boards.

NY GOVERNATOR

He may be legally blind, but he is definitely not stupid. These are the things we should be doing for prevention of idiotic lifestyle conditions that cost billions.

Dear Estonia, here is your swift kick in the balls.

http://tech.yahoo.com/news/ap/20081212/ap_on_hi_te/eu_estonia_cellular_voting

Apparently they didn't learn anything from Ohio 2004. My other opinion is that any attempt to create an identity that is uniquely tied to a physical person on any electronic device constitutes plain evil.

The chip will verify the voter's identity and authorize participation in the electronic voting system, he said.

I like the mention of authorize verb apart from the fact that verification of identities(aka authentication) is hard enough to do. Sometimes I think that Estonia as a whole is a scary pet project of the United States government - this is what we will live like and that's how vulnerable we will be. They have all these niceties like everything is online and etc, but it clearly shows that people forgot the monument incident and what flows from it - government control.

Lolcat: part deux

1. ...has worms and passed two of them yesterday. I am not sure if they are dead or living because I was too scared to even look at the poop.
2. ...gets in your way constantly. Wherever you walk you have to make sure you are not stepping on him.
3. ...wouldn't shut up at night because we closed bedroom door and left him outside.
4. ...very well trained to not do anything bad like claw my carpet instead of scratching post, but he knows how to extort food and I suspect he knows how to open the cabinet doors.
